Sarah Rossette Joanino

When were you a cultivate intern?

I was a Cultivate Asia Pacific intern during the second batch which is the January to March track 2019.

How did God lead and call you to this internship program?

In my last year of being a college student, I told myself that after graduating, I will not waste time doing nothing and that I like to do something worthwhile not only for myself but also for the expansion of God’s kingdom. That’s the time when a friend, a former intern, encouraged me to apply for the second batch of the internship program.

How is God working in your life today?

God has been revealing to me how He can use me for His glory. Every single day, He is giving me different opportunities to share His word to the people who have not heard the Gospel.

Is there a Bible verse that resonates strongly with you during the internship?

My favorite passage which motivates me to dream and wake up with a purpose daily is the one from Proverbs 19:21 which states, “Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”

What are you going to tell those young emerging leaders who are considering to apply?

Before, I easily get intimidated whenever I am tasked to share God’s word to a large group of people or to a congregation, especially when there are people older than I am. But to my surprise during and after the Cultivate Asia Pacific internship, I realized that I should not be terrified in sharing the Gospel because God will use whoever He wants, regardless of age. I also had a lot of discoveries about myself. With Christ’s help, I grew spiritually and found myself seeking His word to me daily. Through the internship, God revealed to me what He wants me to do for the rest of my life.
