Rogeline Uchi

When and where were you a Cultivate Asia Pacific intern?

I was a Cultivate Asia Pacific Intern at OneHope Cambodia for a month.

How have you used your skills and experiences at OneHope in your life?

Applying my skills at OneHope made me realize how important your contribution is to a team. I also gained numerous learnings that can be of use even in the future. My experience at OneHope honed me to be better at serving the community and God.

How did you feel post-internship?

After the internship, I felt like a new part of me was born. My life in Cambodia was very different from my life back home. It was not what I was used to growing up, but it was really fun for me to discover and learn new things every day. Each person I met during the internship is like family to me. I am missing them a lot, especially now that I am back in the Philippines and do not know when I will be back in Cambodia.

How is God working in your life today?

There was never a day that God made me feel that He had given up on me. In the same way, I am faithful to His ways each day, especially on what He wants me to do and where He wants me to be. I continually seek Him every day for guidance, discernment, and wisdom in making decisions.

What was the largest area of personal growth that you experienced?

Working with Christ-centered people around me was the largest area of personal growth that I experienced. At first, it felt surreal because the environment around me felt peaceful and light; but as the days went by, I realized that this was what a Christ-centered community really felt like. That was an unforgettable experience because I was able to grow and experience new things.
